Working together - Jesus Army Life, Day 318

Last night the entire household (including the extras who came for the friendship meal) worked in our garden to prepare it for the upcoming barbecue. There's something incredibly edifying about working together. For a moment people are bound with a sense of unity, if for just a moment...

I have often thought that if I needed to make a set of people into a team I'd put them on a sailing boat together. That kind of situation means you have to trust each other and work as a unit. You learn to get on

But these things aren't the same as living in community... community is more. It's a laying your life down for your brother - permanently. And there you find real unity.

Nonetheless, last night it was enjoyable, working together in the evening sun.

  2. It's true that putting people together in a sailing boat makes them 'pull' together. On crewing a sailing ship you learn to look out for each other..

when hearts see the kingdom there is a preciousness of working for the casue that is etrernal
I had the honour and pleasure on saturday night after we had cleared up after the wedding of sitting and listening to some of the accounts from some of the saints that were around when we bought the farm 30 years ago and they we discribing the call to pick fruit and stuff at the farm they were saying how they saw it as a case of God had given them the crop and it was up to the saints to gather in the blessing that God had bestowed. tehy talked about the joy of building brotherhood as they worke till sunset
I found my heart longing for that depth of relationship to be with the saints 24/7 to build for eterntiy even in the simple things
i was challenged if there was a farm call to go pick the crop would i find and excuse would i be to busy it is not abut he work it is about building eternal brotherhood
bring back the simplicity God please
