"Heroes aren't born, they're cornered" - Jesus Army Life, Day 622

Last night I spoke about heroes. I had to admit to dressing up as superman when I was a kid and performing on the Sunday dinner dining room table. But heroes are supposed to do that aren't they? They're supposed to inspire us. They're supposed to save us too, which is why Jesus' name means God our saviour (Yahu=part of God's Hebrew name, shua=saves in Hebrew) or as I prefer it: God to the rescue!

So who's the hero in your life?

I have been mulling this over since ;last night
I have several heros in my life
    some I will not name
but my children are my hero's
now that may seem like a strange thing to say
but they have battled against so much and even when all seems lost tehy have stayed fighting
they have been loyal and true even when they have been silent
My daughter has understanding and principals that humble me and make me realise shallowness
my boys seem to battle back from the brink time and time again
but my biggest hero has to be Jesus becasue he styas when everyone else goes and offers the hand that encourages us to push into purity and Love
    thanks for making me think

Martin Luther King and Winston Churchill. Both were cornered! Cometh the hour, cometh the man.

Although they were both very gifted they both had very flawed characters.

Funny how we admire gifts more than character - I think God is the other way round!

    Great meeting by the way.

  7. Sorry, I didn't answer the question. Excluding divine persons... Piers. And Gandalf. So, Piers really, because the other one is a fictional character.

  8. This

Your heroes will help you find good in yourself
Your friends wont forsake you for somebody else.
Theyll both stand beside you thru thick and thru thin
And thats how it goes with heroes and friends

From the song by Randy Travis always sums up my hero's and friends for me.

hmmm who is my hero em.... not that sure i have loads of hero's but i think that one of my hero's has got to be.... James Normal, am i allowed to say that just cause he is but also cause he is a solid rock and i suppose that he is safe, i don't think that he would ever sort of jump ship, and one day i want people to say that i am steady.
o by the way i know he is not perfect, he has bad points.
